Hello, it is so nice to meet you! I’m Dr. Brooke Curtis (PSY28974). I am a licensed clinical psychologist, providing psychological testing & assessment services, as well as behavior consultation. I specialize in assessment in a variety of developmental and behavioral health issues, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and Anxiety.
I have extensive experience completing Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluations (CDEs), Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs), and Psychological Testing & Assessments across the lifespan.
I have been working with children, adolescents, and their families for over 15 years. My passion is to help children grow into the amazing humans that they are meant to be. My focus is to provide diagnostic clarification, as well as recommendations that can direct an individual to further service as needed, in order to gain skills that can be used for a lifetime.
I specialize in the following issues:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Developmental Disabilities
Learning Disabilities
Anxiety

Psychological testing is a very useful activity to participate in. Often times, in order to access a higher level of care (such as Behavioral Health Treatment or ABA services), a psychological assessment, followed by a formal report with diagnosis and recommendations, is required. Many of these initial assessments occur in childhood.
There are other occasions where in adulthood, a person might be putting the pieces together as to why academic or social difficulties were ongoing throughout their formative years and beyond. With this, psychological testing is the logical next step, to help rule in (or out) mental or behavioral health diagnoses. I provide psychological testing and assessment across the lifespan, with particular emphasis in Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and learning disabilities. With this, executive functioning and cognitive skills are assessed, with recommendations on how to scaffold strengths and ameliorate weaknesses.

When Autism, ADHD, Intellectual Disability, learning disabilities and developmental disabilities occur in children and adolescents, behavioral excesses and deficits associated with these disorders can be very difficult for a parent or caregiver to manage. Due to my extensive experience in these areas, I am able to assist children and their families to navigate these challenges, assisting with obtaining appropriate referrals to resources as well as navigating the challenging world of having a child with a mental or behavioral health concern.
Additionally, often times families appreciate having a person to talk to, who understands the difficult path they are on, whether it be parents having some counseling sessions of their own, or a sibling who needs a place to be heard outside of the shadow of their brother or sister’s disability. I am happy to provide any assistance needed to help all members of a family thrive.

Depression and anxiety look very different in children than adults. While traditional cognitive-behavioral therapy can provide relief to adults in so many ways, a play therapy or skills based approach is more appropriate with children and adolescents. I tailor the therapeutic modality to the needs of the individuals that I work with, at the developmental level that they are at. Children learn, grow, and work through emotional difficulties through play, and it is important to remember and honor that.
My practice currently has limited availability for outpatient therapy.
Please contact me with questions. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
